Why You Should Install High-Quality Steel Fuel Lines

Fuel lines aren’t all made the same. OEM and aftermarket fuel lines are available in rubber, metal and braided materials. Using subpar materials in modern vehicles with high-pressure fuel injection systems is never a good idea.

That’s why at LinesToGo, all our fuel lines are made only from high-quality materials. In this blog, we discuss the benefits of Galfan® coated steel and 304L stainless steel fuel lines, and why you should never settle for less.

Fuel Lines Are A Crucial Part Of Your Vehicle

A modern fuel system runs at high pressures and requires quality components to operate correctly. All LinesToGo fuel lines are pre-bent, with OE end forms and fittings. And we always use stainless-steel braided Teflon hoses.

But there are other fuel lines out there made from rubber, metal, and other materials. So why choose ours? Let us explain.

Rubber Fuel Lines

  • •Cheap
  • •Easy to install
  • •Not suited to high-pressure fuel systems
  • •Short lifespan
  • •Easily damaged

Rubber fuel lines are generally a low-budget option. They are easy to install but degrade quickly. It’s easy to cut or damage rubber fuel lines, and they’re unsuitable for high-pressure fuel-injected systems.

Metal Fuel Lines

  • •More durable than rubber
  • •Resistant to damage
  • •Harder to fabricate
  • •Costlier than rubber
  • •Stainless steel fuel lines resist rust

Most new cars come fitted with metal fuel lines. They last longer than rubber and won’t get damaged as easily. They cost more, though, and are more difficult to fabricate. Not every metal fuel line is the same. Some are made from stainless steel, but others may be made from inferior metals that don’t prevent rust. All LinesToGo metal fuel lines are made from 304L stainless steel, or are Galfan® coated steel to resist rust.

Braided Fuel Lines

  • •Built to last
  • •Made from stainless steel braid over Teflon or Aramid kevlar braid over Teflon for rust protection
  • •Meets all OE standards
  • •Stainless steel or Aramid braided Teflon hoses prevent rust

Braided fuel lines are flexible. They are used to connect metal fuel lines to the fuel tank or to connect the fuel filter to the fuel pump under the hood. The flexibility allows them to absorb vibration from the engine or attach easily to the fuel tank. Every LinesToGo braided fuel line is constructed from stainless steel braid or Aramid braid over Teflon tubing for rust protection. These have an unlimited shelf life and anti-static PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, a low friction plastic) liner. They all come with OEM end forms and fittings. Using only OEM fittings guarantees compatibility and makes installation easy.
